Distinctive Summer Tours

If your visit to Oman coincides with the hot summer season (mid-June to September-end), then there are some characteristically summery, yet wholly rewarding, activities to consider. While much of the northern half of Oman sizzles during summer, the resort destinations of Jebel Shams and Jebel al Akhdar, are a haunt for tourists seeking to escape the swelter. On the east coast, nesting Loggerhead and Green turtles are a major draw for nature lovers. Elsewhere around Oman, thousands of farmers begin the annual date harvest using traditional methods that are as old as date farming itself.
